Description: Primatene Tablets contain Ephedrine Hydrochloride USP, 12.5 mg, Guaifenesin, USP 200 mg.

Indications: For temporary relief of shortness of breath, tightness of chest, and wheezing due to bronchial asthma. Eases breathing for asthma patients by reducing spasms of bronchial muscles. Helps loosen phlegm (mucus) and thin bronchial secretions to rid bronchial passageways of bothersome mucus, and to make coughs more productive.

Do not use

unless a diagnosis of asthma has been made by a doctor
if you are now taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (certain drugs for depression, psychiatric, or emotional conditions, or Parkinson' disease), or for 2 weeks after stopping the MAOI drug If you do not know if your prescription drug contains an MAOI, ask a doctor or pharmacist before taking this product

Ask a doctor before use if you have

heart disease
high blood pressure
thyroid disease
diabetes
trouble urinating due to an enlarged prostate gland
ever been hospitalized for asthma
cough that occurs with too much phlegm (mucus)
cough that lasts or is chronic such as occurs with smoking, asthma, chronic bronchitis, or emphysema

Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if you are taking any prescription drug for asthma

When using this product some users may experience nervousness, tremor, sleeplessness, nausea, and loss of appetite

Stop use and ask a doctor if

symptoms are not relieved within 1 hour or become worse
nervousness, tremor, sleeplessness, nausea, and loss of appetite persist or become worse
cough lasts more than 7 days, comes back, or occurs with fever, rash, or persistent headache These could be signs of a serious condition

If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a health professional before use

Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.

do not use more than dosage below unless directed by a doctor
adults and children 12 years and over: take 2 tablets initially, then 2 tablets every 4 hours, as needed, not to exceed 12 tablets in 24 hours
children under 12 years: ask a doctor

Inactive ingredients: crospovidone, D&C yellow No. 10 aluminum lake, FD&C yellow No. 6 aluminum lake, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, silicon dioxide (colloidal)

How Supplied: Available in 24 and 60 tablet thermoform blister cartons.

Store at room temperature, between 20°C and 25°C (68°F to 77°F).
